Steel Styled Wheel Inquiry
« on: September 21, 2022, 09:46:49 PM »
My 65 GT has steel styled wheels stamped "Kelsey Hayes...11/64...14x5."  By all accounts, they appear to be original even if dated months before my scheduled build date of 5/17/65 (But, who knows...maybe those dates are too far apart...and they couldn't possibly be "original" to my car  ???).

I've done my best to clean them up. See photos.

My question is (and yes, I've searched the forum): Was 14x5 the only size available in 65?  Were there different sizes available in 66? If so, what different sizes?

As I contemplate adding to the stable...I feel like I need to be better educated on the 65/66 steel styled wheel.  Any help is much appreciated.

That's my understanding: one size for 1966.

Believe all 64-65 styled steel wheels were the same width

Hi, the Kelsey Hayes and date stamp shown in the photo above. Exactly where is that found? I am assuming inside the rim portion but where relative to the valve stem and on which side, outer or inner side of the middle? Thank you in advance.

Definitely inside...but I don't recall exactly in relation to the valve stem. I have tires on the rims now so I can't look. I doubt it would be the same on every rim anyway.
I did have to clean up the rim pretty well before the stamp became clear...
