Is this the correct fuel pump for a 1966 200?
« on: September 02, 2022, 12:10:29 AM »
Does this fuel pump look correct for a Dec. 1, 1965 build date, San Jose, 200 with auto? I read a 4092 was correct for a 66 pump, but wanted to make sure.

Dec. 1, 1966 would be a 1967 model year.  Are you sure of the date?

I believe that generally, 1966 model year pumps should have screws around the diaphragm with the inlet horizontally toward the back of the car and the outlet vertical from the center.

What you have appears to be the '67 and up version, which will functionally work but is not visually correct.

Oops, my mistake. I meant Dec. 1, 1965. It was my understanding they used both, the ac 40290 & carter 4092, but not sure of when they switched or if they were used at the same time or different factories.

Don't recall ever seeing an original with a AC pump though they might have serviced them (service replacement parts)  that way in the first year. The MADE IN CANADA or MADE IN USA would be another detail to study and determine if that applies also
