Best value in a Group 27 battery
« on: August 15, 2022, 03:35:00 PM »
Needing a new group 27 batter for the SCJ and thought I'd get opinions on whats the best replacement out there? My local Bumper To Bumper parts store doesn't stock the Motorcraft 27's any more. Are the Motorcrafts any good?

I got my G27 directly from Ford.  That thing is a beast.

Ford might not carry a group 27F battery anymore. I went to a local dealer to buy one a few weeks ago and was told that it was no longer available. The replacement was a Group 24 battery. Sure, that'll work, but it's smaller. It won't fill out the battery tray and the heat shield won't fit properly, either.

NAPA still carries Group 27F batteries. Advance Auto Parts does, too, under the Die Hard brand. I bought the Die Hard battery and it looks EXACTLY like the Motorcraft 27F except for the labels.

Thanks Scott, I've called all over my area to the different Ford dealers and nobody has one or can get one. I'll go the Die Hard route I guess.
