Topic: The separate pieces that make up one 67 2+2 weatherstrip

I had to look a few times to figure out why there are so many different year part numbers on one NOS, 67 2+2 weatherstrip (passenger side/right).
Starting at the front with the metal tab and screw hole: C6ZB-63513A70-1A
   This piece is only 2 1/4" long including the tab.
The main run from the tab to where the roof radius starts: FS C5AB-6351A68-A
The quarter circle curve: C7ZB-6351474-A
The last 8 inches or so with the piece that covers the rear fiberglass panel curve: CZZB-63513B60-A

My guess is that the main run is common across many models so it is made by the gross. The rest of the pieces are specific to the roof model and these extra pieces are glued together or hot cast-in to make an assembly.

I got curious and looked at the "1967 Mustang Body Assembly Manual" (AM006 pg 48 - the RH side of mine is cut short) and found nothing.

So your saying that all of these engineering numbers are on one piece of over the door/side window weather strip section?

Since you mentioned NOS guessing this a a service piece. Does there happen to be a part number and date or at least shipping date on the bag it came in?

Maybe one of the new suppliers used different molds than originally or received a group of sections (molds) from Ford to replenish the supply chain

Need to see if I have  piece out side and see what it has

I thought this was common knowledge, hence the vagueness.
There is a 67 coupe version too that also has the different sub-part numbers. I'll dig it out tomorrow.
Both of these have been kicking around for 10-20 years but no bag or date.

Yes, there are those 4 numbers on the back of the weatherstrip.
You can tell they are individual pieces on the back, but not really on the front (visible side).

I should add I just pulled an NOS 67 door gasket out of the original bag and it's very evident that  the end piece is different and molded/glued onto the rest of the rubber.
I'll try for a date if the bag has one.

Yes, this is a different seal than the roof seal that started this thread.
Again, the ends appears to molded onto the middle portion.

My opinion is that it's a generic middle that is common to many models (starting in 63) and they just use different lengths and place other ends on it as needed to make a different seal.
