Topic: rear spring paint ID on 68 "J" code

Looking for info for an April 03 built San Jose  plnt "J" code CS.  Equipped with PDB, AC, PS, Atuo trans, 3:25 gear.

John - do you happen to know the engineering number on the spring? 

Easier to match or check the specific application

And is it a GT  or non-GT?

Just have to dig out the pictures and Cal Special buildsheets to see if we have a match once I hear back

Looks like your rear springs were likely marked with a single silver stripe on the short leaf, at the rear edge - just before the curve in the leaf begins

My High Country Special was built 7-16-68 a bit latter than yours. Here are a couple of pictures of mine. It was a single silver stripe just behind the front eye. Hope it helps. Marty

Marty IMHo that is a very unusual place to find that mark. Must have been a new guy

Where both springs marked in the same location on your car  or (In the bottom picture) is that the other spring's silver stripe to the left in the picture ( a more typical location)?

No that mark to the left was dirt. Both were marked the same. Marty
