Topic: correct paint on bottom of door on 1966 GT

For concours judging, should the paint color on the door bottom between the weatherstripping and interior be the same color as the body exterior, or, should it be color of interior and door panel as part was supplied?

Also, you should include the plant and scheduled build date in future requests as those sometimes do make a difference.

I located some pictures that came from this forum about 65-66 doors' paint.
A couple of points: these pictures are what I thought were important; masking and painting are not an absolute science, workers were under a time constraint to get the job done quickly, therefore no two cars were masked the same, just "similar".
I would assume the the masking was done from a "pit" alongside the assembly line and the workers were "looking up".

First step - What plant are you asking about? That would help

If you have read other threads the interior was applied before the exterior and a mask was laid over that to protect it from the exterior color application. Where it stopped and started varies a bit depending on when and where it was built. Often there was no of very little plant from either the interior or exterior color application because the painter just didn't reach or bend down during one of the applications.

There are other details you might want to reproduce when painting this area but again would need to know the details about your car
