Thank You. Wish I could have found a build sheet or engine tag for my car. Does anyone make 351W 2V engine decals such as 203?
Mr Speegle, You are a wealth of knowledge. Maybe I'll attempt to make one. Any guess on the color?
1969 351W 2V engine id codes on Engine tag and Drivers side valve cover. Is there any new information on this subject? There is an old discussion that didn't answer what the 7 or 8 possible codes are for. I have a San Jose, July 69 "H" code mustang automatic with A/C and P/S. What code should I have? and/or a good guess. No buildsheet was found in car.
Marti's Tag Book has all the info you need. 69 is significantly different from 70 so don't go by a 70 tag or buildsheet.
When you do decide on the "numbers, etc." for your specific eng tag, ESC will make it for you, like the other tags they offer. See the "note" on this link for them. They will print what you instruct and in what color, etc. hope that helps.Al https://ecsauto.com/collections/ford/products/engine-identification-decal-1969-1970-vehicles
Thanks Carl that gets us down to two possible numbers (one mentioned in my post above) but lacks the letters again so not all the information we need for the PO's request for information for a paper ID label and would need engine changes and other details for the aluminum take those some of those can be answered with things like engine assembly date and other references. Kevin's book (starting on page 89) shows only the three digit code and in this case two different numbers for manual and two different ones for automatic 351W 2V
This is a a DB build sheet but it is a 69 H code auto with A/C and P/S. Built March 20th, 1969. So the paper tag would be smaller C1 and then K203S in red. Unless there was an engineering change for the 351W-2V by July then it would be K203T.
Assuming that California cars didn't have smog pumps for the 351W, which seems to be the case. If they did, the K would go away.
