69 Staggered shock upper mounting plates
« on: May 21, 2022, 09:47:30 PM »
Hi all

Im trying to track down a set of upper mounting brackets for the rear staggered shock setup found on big block 4 speed cars. Specifically for my 69 SCJ rebuild project. Since the unfortunate demise of Forest Sanco I've been seriously struggling to find a supplier, and one who makes a decent and accurate set. Does anyone know of any current suppliers?
Thank you  :)

So just to be clear your looking for the sheet metal cross brace that attaches to the forward part of the trunk and the drivers side upper shock mount like shown below

Should have cut this one out and saved it  ::)

Yes that is correct. Its two plates specifically. The first it the one you have shown which is fitted to the forward part of the trunk, the second is more of a cover plate that is fitted underneath. Both are spot welded to the body with about 150 spot welds! Mine unfortunately was quite rotted out and couldn't be salvaged, so looking for replacement plates.
These pics may give you a better idea of the plates themselves that I am looking for!

Would not hurt to place ad ad in the Wanted section here and elsewhere just in case someone ordered and got some but never got around to installing or using them

Just a thought

I cut one out of my parts car years ago.  I wasn't sure what it was worth or what a pain it was to ship it.  I can't make up my mind if I should hold onto it.  It's probably more value to me exchanging for original parts.
