1969 Convertible Frame Rail (RH)
« on: May 20, 2022, 01:09:45 PM »
I need to replace the frame rail on the passenger-side (RH) because mine is broken. My preference is to find an original one. I have found one online but it has been repaired and I hope to find one that was not previously damaged. I suppose I could have mine welded and repaired but it doesn't look as nice. Any suggestions where I might find one? The part number is C9ZB-7653138-A

That is the part I need, but on the opposite side. They are the one's who have it but it has been repaired which is very much visible so I'm hoping to find an un-repaired original if possible. Thanks for responding!

Common error on part numbers.

Even number end of a part number (not including the dash suffix or revision) is right hand (Pax).
He asked for a C9ZB-7653138-A

Odd number end of a part number is left hand (Driver).
The part in the Couugar Parts link is a C9ZB-7653139-A

Other than West Coast Cougars, which is great, any ideas who might have one?

FYI the individual components of the convertible top frame are seldom sold separately on the used market. With that said you may have to buy a entire frame to get the part you need. Use the part or parts you need and sell the rest. I know that myself and others have had to do the same thing to achieve our goal in the past. I hope that you are lucky and find the part you need but wanted to make you aware of the reality so that you don't waste time waiting for that elusive part.
