68 question
« on: March 15, 2011, 03:45:58 AM »
I have found in a bag from 68.5, these nuts and screws. 8 nuts and 14 screws. they came with the car so I assume they came off the car. I did not take this car apart. I have not seen these type of nuts and don't remember them on my 68.5. that was 18 years ago. The screws look like the ones found attaching the wide molding to the grille. Any idea's where they were located? Thanks for any input.

Nut looks like the one that holds the right side of the instrument bezel to the dash but I don't think there would be 8 of them in a car.

+1 on the nuts. I agree on the screws and the grill. They were also used to hold the windshield washer pump and dimmer switch. Marty

Not so sure about the pump/switch.  Most I've seen don't have such a wide washer on the head and are a P&O finish. FAM calls out 377834 for both with a S101 (special, believe it was sealer not finish, may be wrong ont he finish due to age on the ones I've seen). Thoes look like this...

From AMK site... http://amkproducts.com/bulk3.asp?part=B%2D11090

Looks more like a 372345, 10-12, 3/4"L 1/2" OD specail hex head used to hold the grille to the molding, but only 6 needed.
