Spark Plug Wire for 4th Cylinder
« on: April 08, 2022, 07:21:01 PM »
I just got a set of spark plug wires from CJPONY.  The wires are all a great length except for the 4th cylinder.  Any suggestions on getting a proper labeled longer one?

I constantly hear about problems on this and other forums associated with CJ Pony parts . I don't understand why some don't get the problem message. NPD or Virginia are the suggested alternative and although nether is perfect (no one is)your chances of having problems is minimal.

The set I got from NPD are Marti Auto Works SPW-9D with 2Q68 markings. All the wires are seemingly the correct length except for 4. I'm not thinking going directly to Marti will help out at all.

Do you by chance have a 1968 302?  I had the same problem and a friend also had the same issue.  This was several years ago and I spoke to the folks at Marti who told me in a rather nice way that I must be nuts - that their wires were made from Ford factory drawings.  I am sure others have had your problem as well.  Marti did make one wire for both my friend and myself but we had to pay for the wire in both instances. We paid, installed the correct wire (you must tell them the length you want) and waited a while for the parts to be "custom" made.  Who knows why this continues to happen?  Give them a call and get a wire ordered.  It is discouraging when things of this mature happen but fixable.
