1970 shaker scoop
« on: March 18, 2022, 02:27:08 PM »
Did the 1970 shakers on 351 cars come with the 351 emblems on the side of the shaker or left bare?  My car was a June 10, 1970 DAP build.

My 351W shaker did not have any emblems on the scoop.

Looked through my pictures and can offer the following

Three examples shown below - top to bottom right. 0F122xxx, 0F167xxx, 0F183xxx

Only one I found with was on a "restored" car so suspect IMHO

I notice tops of the ribs are also painted black.  Other posts seem to have concluded they were bare or painted silver.

They were originally. Not unusual for unrestored cars to have owners that took the black rattle can to freshen up sun burn/worn surfaces on the shaker and engine compartment. Pictures I choose to post were not focusing on the finish - just the emblem or lack there of ;)  Neither of the bottom two have the drain hose and other details like new or prefect. Plus there would be other differences depending on where they were originally delivered or built for

Hard to tell if the top one, only one that does not look repainted for sure, but bad angle for the detail

Are you saying originals should be silver?
