Non-adjustable D-code seat question
« on: October 07, 2009, 09:30:19 PM »
Sorry guys for jumping in but I have a passenger seat from a D-code coup that has no sliders under it. It was bolted right to the floor with what looks like factory stuff. Is it? Did Ford do this as an option or what? Does anyone need it? I've never seen one before and I've stripped a lot of cars.

Open tracker, When you mean up for grabs are you wanting to get rid of this? If so I am interested. Sending you a Email.

Yep, I want it to be used where it's supposed to be used. The seat is in overall good shape. The upholsery is ripped but the pad is all there and the frame is in good shape. I'm up for a trade of some kind, I don't know what it's worth.

Opentracker: You might want to keep the seat in your car if its early enough to have come from the factory with it if you are restoring to original.

I'm not, the car is long gone. I bought it for my daughter and she wanted a slider on the pass side. We sold the car years ago. I've been holding onto the seat because I had never seen one. I was hoping someone on this forum could use it.

From what Brian said, it's just the post that are different. It does look like a regular frame. I told him he can have the post. I'm 6'-6" , I had a hell of a time sitting in that seat even for her test drive. I didn't notice it didn't move until it was time to go. Not one of Fords better idea's IMO.

I sent the pins and seat tag to Brian yesterday. I guess I could have acutioned it off but I wanted to give it to someone from this forum who could use it. There'll be a donation coming to the forum soon.

I have another D-code in the back yard but the seats move. Let me know if he needs anything. It's a runing car but I don't mind swaping parts out. It's going to be sold soon anyway.

I have had those made before.  NOT that difficult.  I think the machine shope charge was about 50 bucks.  The big key is that the floor pan is different as the seat belt holes are offset to make the non moving seat work

Brian,

I wish I had known you were looking for a non-adjusting passenger seat.  I have one in my garage that I bought when I was a teenager.  I needed new seats in the 65 I had at the time.  I bought them from a guy at a yard sale that didn't know why the seat didn't adjust.  As soon as he said that I knew they were from a 64.5  Anyhow, I could have just met you and let you take a look at it.  It would have been closer and easier to get too.

Talk to you later.
Rubber helps protect.  I do my part to protect the steets by laying down rubber every chance I get.

"Opentracker"
Do you still have the seat frame available?
I have a rusty one with studs so I could use
my studs with that frame. I have many 65/66
parts to trade. You can leave me a PM, thanks!

The seat frame is spoken for, sorry. If I find any more of them I'll post it on the forum.
