I just noticed my driver?s side panel does not have the same recess as the passenger side. I?m assuming the recess is for the fold down seat latch receiver. I?ve seen some driver side panels with the same recess. Should the driver side not have the latch receiver on the fold down seat panel? it seems like it would hit the panel?

First, don't worry, it's "normal" on many of them including mine.  This was discussed before, I'm searching for the thread...

To make sure you have a matching pair you can find the engineering number on the backside . C7ZZ  for 67 and C8ZZ for 68.

Would anyone know if each side of the fold down seat would receive this latch receiver when there is only a notch on one side? I believe this is what the notch is for so it does not contact the fiberglass panel. My interior is currently apart and I?m starting to reassemble now.

Sure would help if you included when and where your car was built so we could relate when it was built to running changes, for example, done during the production year. Might want to consider adding your vehicle's information to your signature so that it's always there

 To you general question about the drivers side here is a couple of examples but don't know at the moment if they apply to your specific car

As for the panels there is also early and late 67 versions but that normally relates to other details and not the fold down panels themselves

Thanks - also want to check, for myself, to see when NJ changed from the early no bezel at the latch style to the later style that required the trim plate/bezel. For others is appears to be right around the 7T156xxx production period. Earlier than some other plants it appears

Believe so on fold down fastbacks. This appears to be what they did until part way through 1970 production
