Carburetor ID and Overspray Question

Need a bit of help on ID'ing the carb on my 67 C code car. I'm thinking its been replaced which is a bummer, but looking for clarification from those who know. Here's a pic of the base stamping. The tag is missing. The dashpot has come blue engine paint overspray as well as a few of the bolt on pieces and I'm wondering if they should be that way. Thanks.

should be no overspray on the carb parts. your pics must be downloaded before viewing. i won't do that. can you fix them so user do not have to download?

Most likely a previous owner and a rattle can freshening up the engine at some point in the past

What about the carb number? Is the the right one or do I need to do some searching? Car has been sitting since 1994. I figure now is the time to straighten things out while I have it off. And is there a thread that shows a good restored one for markings etc?

Is the number stamped on the front edge 0A D?

Yes there is a 3 on the corner in front of it, but 0AD is on the side.

Citing Appendix C - Carburetors in the Mannel's book Mustang & Ford Small Block V8 1962-1969:

There is a Carburetor Applications table in Mannel pp. C-3 through C-6 that will list the correct application/ID Number for your 67 C code car.  Carburetor applications are based on automatic or manual transmission, with or without Thermactor emissions (T/E), early or late production date, etc.

For example, my 67 C code signature car with automatic, T/E, and November 1966 build date uses a 2V C7DF-V carburetor.  The brass carburetor tag is stamped with a B 6LC production date (November 1966).  An abbreviated carburetor number is stamped into the casting at the left-front foot of the carb body:  7D V. 

Your carburetor doesn't have the original tag; but I'm guessing from the stamping 0A D that the carburetor is for a 1970 Ford vehicle.  (Clue:  0 in the stamping would indicate a 1970 Ford application).

You'll be able to look up the correct carburetor for your 67 C code once you plug in the transmission type and with or without T/E.

With a little more research:

Believe your 0A D carburetor stamping translates to a D0AF-D 2100 2V carburetor.  Some brief internet searching suggests the D0AF-D carburetor is fitted to several 1970 Ford models with the 2V 302 V8, including full-size Fords and Mustangs.

As we know from own experiences, carburetor swaps were common in the day; exact part number match / applications were less of a priority that acquiring a "close" match to keep the car on the road.

Just got back in town. Thanks guys for that info. I sourced a couple of carburetors with the correct part number. Both have the tags on them still and one I believe is possibly the right date code. They are in need of rebuilding, but that's a simple job. Been a while since I've done a carb rebuild, but I used to do them all the time when I was a kid for extra $$$. Also grabbed a ultrasonic cleaner. Never used one before so if anyone has any pointers on how to use, what solution to put the parts in that won't discolor etc that would be awesome. I appreciate the all the info.
