Did 67 GT350 have an engine tag?
« on: January 21, 2022, 12:06:44 PM »
I recall when I restored my 1966 A code GT 2+2 there was an aluminum engine tag under an intake manifold bolt.

Now restoring 1967 GT350 #1341, should it have the same type of engine tag?  If so what is correct location?

If 67 Shelby's had a tag good chance I do not have a tag, as parts were in boxes when car was purchased in late 1980's
1967 GT350 01341, FORD Build: 2/28/67 ; SAI Build 3/28/67
1966 GT 2+2, 4spd, PS, tinted windows, Raven Black w/Black Pony interior; FORD Build: 10/11/65
1986 SVO, Oxford White w/Leather interior
1987 Saleen #132 Dark Gray Metallic

No metal tag only the paper sticker on the coil.

Thank you Bob.
Ok I search SAAC forum and came up with this thread

https://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=13774.0

Jeff S. listed the following for engine codes

"From the add/delete sheets I looked at

E-245-A - Listed as 289 4V HP with 4 speed no AC (Grp # 2571)
E-245-? - Rest is not viewable  (Grp # 2572)
   246-A01 - Listed as 289 4V HP with auto and no EECS (#Grp 2574)
E-245-B - Listed as 289 4V HP with 4 speed EECS engine (Grp #2596)
E-246-A - Listed as 289 4V HP with 4 speed EECS engine (Grp #2613)"

and I see ECS is referenced for the labels.  However they do not offer a 245-A  (#1341 is part of the Grp #2571)
but they do note on theiir webpage they can make any label that is needed
https://ecs-automotive-concepts.myshopify.com/products/engine-identification-decal-1966-vehicles?variant=34653386834081

So I believe I would need to request a

C1 245A    Label

Is this correct?

That is what I would suggest using.
