Convertible Windshield Stainless Trim Installation

Does anyone have a set of pictures outlining the installation / sealing procedures for the 6 stainless trim pieces for a 69 convertible? Reading both the 69 and 70 body assembly manuals about this is kind of confusing.

The bottom 2 pieces look pretty straight forward with the 3/8 x 1/4 foam seal installed at the base of the windshield.

The sides differ from year to year. The 69 manual shows a bead of sealer on the mating surface against the windshield whereas on the 70 that is absent. Adding to the confusion is a really great looking 65 restoration (Maple Hill) where they put a double bead of sealer between the top side A pillar and the stainless trim. Maybe the 65 is different but the 69 doesn't show any sealer there.

The top 2 pieces are the most confusing. There is supposed to be a 1" x 1" x 56" foam air seal that looks like it takes up all the space between the trim pieces and the windshield to windshield frame gap. The problem is that the only seal that I documented was on the top of the windshield frame and it measured about 1" x 1/8". Not really what it seems they are referring to in the assembly manual.

Any comments about how people are actually installing these would be appreciated. It kind of looks like without that foam air seal at the top that a high speed drive in the rain would be pretty leaky at the top.
