351 Hood Scoop Badging Gold and White vs Black and White
« on: November 24, 2021, 09:41:34 AM »
My neighbor and I both have 69 Mach1's. Mine has the Black/White emblems and he has one with Gold/White emblems. They both have the same part numbers. Were these both original? Was it because they came from different assembly plants?
Thank you,
Mike

I just searched NPD and Google and can not find any Gold hood scoop emblems?
Accurate looking but not a Concours Restoration/build. See my build photo gallery at 69GT350 Hertz Build

I'm thinking the gold ones are just sun faded black ones.   I remember seeing gold ones back in the 80's on unrestored cars and figured this was the case.   I think I might even have a couple of original 351 badges from a '69 Torino that are faded.

I they have been on the car for a fair amount of time the difference (as mentioned) may be due to age and sun exposure. Other possibilities, if the car is not original is one may be service parts produced later and by another company. We've seen this on other car models and emblems
