For comparison so each of us could evaluate. My earlier comments related to thin was from another source don't know from where and how they drew their conclusion.

Upper left -you can barely make out the printing. Not easy to get a picture without taking things apart. Late 67 San Jose car

Bottom two are current reproductions. One from each of the two major makers

Thanks Jeff but I still don't know except that I know from your pictures the reproductions are way off from the original in terms of the material appearance. Those look like styrene plastic while the original seems to be Bakelite.

Don't disagree. Unfortunately like many reproductions they appear to fall short. Sometimes it's due to the lack of the original material, cost factors or what the maker expects to be a price point the majority of buyers will accept

Leaves some of us to seek out originals and original issue NOS parts

Thanks that would make it a very early example and the reason it may have either IMHO internals

As for the cap it appears, based on what I could turn up, that if it did have an Autolite cap it would have been the thin letter version.

There is a reproduction of that cap available

Witch one is the assembly line one please?

As mentioned in reply #12 I believe at this point it could be either FoMoCo or Autolite or a mix given when your dist was assembled

My last two questions,The distributor cam what degree is common for an early 67 Shelby GT500 please?
There are different degree cams.

Last question the dist wire are a lot of types.
Which one is the correct assembly line for my car please?
