Topic: 1969 Hood Latch - Original(?)

My Mach 1 was built in San Jose on July 10, 1969, eight days behind schedule.  The hood latch that is on the vehicle has a date code of 7/8/69.  While the date is technically before the official build date, it is so close that it makes we wonder if it had been changed at some point in its early history.  Thoughts?

Something as minor as a hood latch I could see being very fresh prior to installation since it's just an assembly line batch part

Yes agreed two days does not provide enough time to get the part in a container, then the box car, shiiped by train to the west coast, run through the delivery (or what ever it was officaly called) station, diverted to San Jose, unloaded, inventoried and moved to the line then installed during the second half of the cars build

Might need to refinish and install it as you search for a more correct one then later sell it if its still in great condition
