   Am I correct that the front spring marking for a mid April San Jose K code fastback  would be one red stripe?   Thanks, Doug

Found mine to sort of a brick red but I've seen a few (just before yours in sequential numbers) that were a solid fire engine red. Of course you could have had the over or under stripe but if yours are missing just the one stripe would be my suggestion

Would need to know

- What body style

- What engine

- What transmission

- Projected build date

- AC or non AC

- PS or non PS

- Engineering numbers from the rear springs would really help narrow down the possibilites

There are no part numbers on the front springs so not sure of how that would help and the only Ford books I have show the replacement numbers - not certain they are the original numbers.  Same goes for the rears - I can find out what Ford used to replace the originals - not what was on your particular car originally - the reason I'm always asking what the engineering numbers are on a set of springs when someone asks about the paint marks on them. 

Was there the thought of using the Master Parts Catalog to figure out the paint marks originally on th esprings? If so - don't do it
