Topic: 68 S Scode Power Steering Belt Alignment

I just purchased the correct pulleys & belts from Bill @ Mansfield Restoration.  Great guy and very knowledgeable.
The PS belt is not in alignment with the crank pulley.   As it seems that a lot on this car was swapped or replaced, I
can only assume its the wrong PS bracket or spacer.   
Any guidance would be appreciated.   So close.....

I think the bolt and spacer may be the culprit, no?

The spacer is not correct so it might be a good place to start. The ps bracket should have a long stud with a nut (not a bolt) otherwise brackets look correct

And you might want to check your ps pulley for correct application

Maybe post your pulley info here so we can make sure you have the correct pieces?

Looks like the incorrect PS pump pulley if the car has no A/C. If it?s a no A/C car the pump pulley only connects with the most forward sheave on the crank pulley.

+1 . The picture shows a AC power steering pulley on a non AC car. The correct non AC pulley will have a offset towards the front of the car.

I have a hard time viewing the annoying oversize pictures but it looks like the PS aluminum bracket is fine . Yes the small diameter spacer is wrong. You are missing the larger diameter .50 inch thick, steel spacer needed on a non AC car.  https://www.npdlink.com/product/spacer-power-steering-pump-mounting/148922   The AC compressor bracket takes the place of the spacer on a AC car. A bolt is not used to hold the bracket and spacer to the head . Instead a long stud is used with a locking nut to hold in place. The same stud and nut are used regardless of if AC or not.

Since you need all the mounting hardware and not just the spacer I would just get the F-1154 kit from AMK:

Dead Nuts On carries the correct pulley reproduction if you can't find an original.
