'68 NJ brake booster hose clamps
« on: August 19, 2021, 08:13:34 PM »
For a late April '68 NJ car w/302, what is the typical clamp configuration for the power booster vacuum hose?  I have a crimp clamp at the booster check valve and a spring clamp with squared ends on the intake side.

I would use the typical crimp clamp in your case.

Guess I should have noted it is a '68 GT350 4sp with aluminum intake... if that makes any difference.

Went though my pictures and allot of examples had been played with.

One I found that might be as it was originally is shown below

Thanks Jeff, that's what I have on the car currently... and a crimp clamp over by the booster check valve.

Yes it might be original but from what time period ? There was no doubt a change over time in 68 from one style to the other.

The example is from 8T03J1942xx. Pretty close to the car the information was requested for.

Jeff... in your pic, it is showing tall carb nuts.  I know on earlier Shelby's they could be taller than regular Mustangs, but is that something that continued on?  I guess I just assumed '68 would use the same mounting nuts as a Mustang?

Regarding the booster clamps it would be a spring clamp on manifold side and keystone clamp on booster side unless cast iron manifold car that never went back for recall. That would have 2 keystone clamps
