Rivet tool for ball joints

On riveting the lower balljoints what size rivet tool is used for proper size.Thanks

It's not the tool, it's the 30 to 50 ton press.

Custom made dies and fixtures are required to do them properly.  Unless you're a skilled machinist, this is a job best left to those with experience.

have seen some home made (with air tools) were the rivets cracked, were not expanded enough, and just didn't appear safe - not to mention didn't look factory.

Never measured the head diameter of the dies Rare Parts use but they had many more than a dozen different ones with different waffle patterns to match what different customers wanted.

Expensive but one task IMHO better left to the companies that can do it well.

Here's an example of what happens when someone doesn't know what they're doing.  This was on a very valuable '65.
