65 K code fastback rear spring clamps
« on: June 28, 2021, 07:10:15 AM »
I removed this rear C4ZA  5556 S spring from a April 65 K code fastback , the spring clamps are riveted to the springs VS the clamped on clamps. . the bottom leaf with the number stampings has three holes ,one for the center bolt and two for the rivets . looking for input, thanks.

Have only seen those used on rebuilt springs and aftermarket ones. Too bad as those springs can be difficult to find

Sounds about right in regards to being rebuilt, seems like a lot of work to drill the holes for the rivets in each leaf,  im going to reuse the bottom leaf with the numbers on a new set .just need to find a single 5556 S bottom leaf for the other side . thanks for the input.

These are the springs on 6S923 with the riveted clamps. Probably, Claude Dubois in Brussels, Belgium, added these as he added
the panhard-rod. The bottom leaves are originals with correct markings and dates.
