67 Shelby power brake booster line/hose
« on: May 29, 2021, 11:20:07 PM »
I was going to post this here:

and may still if this works the way I think it does.

While looking for yet another lost part I came across my stock appearing metal and rubber hose for the power brake vacuum source.

A few observations and questions.

The metal portion appears to be correct in that it's almost a 45 degree bend (more like 40) and has no bulge at the end like the repops.
Can I just cad plate the whole thing and dull it a bit to get it to look like an original? If I use steel wool I can put lines in it just like the Terne lines.
Was the screw end zinc dichromate (gold)?

My hose has approximately 3 ribs but is otherwise smooth. It looks original.

I gather both ends of the rubber would use crimp clamps? These:

Metal line was terne process look and the fitting was Zinc Dichromate. Vacuum rubber hose did not typically have ribs but was smooth. Pinch clamps were used on both ends of the hose .

Thanks once again, Bob.

I'll post a pic of the tube and fitting later.
