Starting at the same time the engine braces were added to the engine bay on '65 convertibles, a tubular brace was also mounted under the dash. It extends from the pedal support over to under the glove compartment. I can't seem to recall which fasteners were used for this brace. I was pretty good about tagging/bagging and even making notes about fastener sizes and markings, but I overlooked this one. On the connection at the pedal support, I think it's a hex head bolt with captured tooth washer and a flange nut on the back. Under the dash, I don't recall, but think it was something similar. I know that there should be 2 washers between the bracket as it was a carry-over part from some other Ford. If anyone has a '65 convertible built after around mid-November '64 and has the braces, I would appreciate if you could post a couple pics of the fasteners that attach the under dash brace. Or, just describe them to me.
Thanks!
