Thinking that you may be referring to a sportroof/fastback since you mentioned clips. Here is a couple of examples

Looks like there might need to be some modification to the scoops to get them to fit a 1970 quarter.

Guess we'll ask again. What body type (scoops are different) is your car?

Do you already have scoops? And if so are they originals or something else?

Is the car you have a 69 or 70?

It looks like the scoop is set up to partially sit inside the factory 69 opening. The 70 doesn't have that. I saw some scoops at CJPony Parts that attach differently but can be used on either year.

It doesn't matter if it is a 69 or 70 they were all built as 69's...

The clips slide into back of the side scoop then the front edge is retained with two screws keeping the whole assembly in place. Your scoop or scoops may be missing the brackets the clips slide into

As an extra details the edge of the scoop to body joint was sealed with a small amount of chalking

Bingo!!!
I already put new 69 full quarter panels on my build. I have never seen those brackets that the clips slide into before, all makes sense now! All i need to do now is source those clips!!! Branda does not show them, just the clips that screw into the quarter panel. Any ideas?
