68 San Jose Fuel Tank Wire Retainer Survey
« on: February 19, 2021, 09:32:06 PM »
The subject of how the fuel sender wire at the tank was held to the gas tank opening edge has come up in a number of earlier threads. Thought we could at least share a thread to start collecting data points of cars so that we might better understand what was used and the possible variations. For this survey San Jose built Mustangs only and please include

1- Cars VIN (you can leave off the last three digits if you choose) This will help us have details such as engine and body style just in case that comes into play
2- Cars build date - Real or projected (specify which on it is)
3- How the fuel sender wire was attached to the forward gas tank opening lip on the passenger side
4- If the car happens to be a restored or repaired car please note that
5- Did the car come ordered with the convenience package (just a possibility that their might be a connection)

Thanks

When we bought this car it was in unrestored condition. We found the plastic sender sleeve in place. It was cleaned and restored to it's place.
