1969 vs. 1970 Mach1 seats
« on: January 20, 2021, 08:40:21 PM »
What if any, are the differences between the 69 and 70 Mach1 front seats? Will seat covers interchange?

The seat release levers are in different locations.

Other than the seat lever locations the uphostry cover will work for both years?

You mean the back rest seat release levers I guess.

Definitely the only difference is the back rest release lever. Thank you V code.

69 comfort weave goes all the way down the front of the seat.  70 comfort weave stops as the front of bottom seat starts  down.

Does anyone know how long this style seat frame was used?
It's been a while since I looked but I have a pair of seats that look like they came out of a Maverick, Pinto or other Ford around the 1974 time.
They aren't far from the Mach I design.

Short answer is no but that is only because 70 did not only use gray for that stripe. Depended on the interior color and 70 had allot more colors than 69

Sorry didn't have a nice clear shot of an original red set of seats but they have red inserts also

Thank you for your help.

69-70 Shelby fastback/sportroof with black interior would have had a red stripe in the front seat upper section. Not aware of any change or problem during production at Dearborn in 69 Mach I or Shelby

A 69 Shelby convertable with a black interior could also have seats with a black insert , correct?

Should have been more specific above so I added the body style to that reply.

69-70 Shelby convertible front bucket seats had the inserts that matched the interior or seat color. Black or white. Don't recall any red interior convertibles being built
