Hello all,Looking for a little advice. The number on my solenoid is D2AF-11450-AA. There's also a Motorcraft stamped on it. Is that from 1972?If it is, what should it be? And, what are my options? Repo? And my gas cap. It doesn't fit very well, and I don't think it's the correct one. The only letters on it are M F 5. I don't know what that means. Options for a 1966 gas cap? Repo? Thanks in advance
I tried two brand new D2 versions on my 67...cost me a ton of time in trouble. 2nd one, box clearly marked "MADE in China"...1st one not marked, but I assume it was.The solenoids would stick immediately and in turn, attempted to operate my starter by backfeeding the tiny ignition wire, back to the ignition switch...as we all know, a 14 guage wire cannot directly operate a starter so meltdown occurred.

When that happens its no fun and you hope that you didn't tighten the battery cables to the battery post to tightly
