Wanted To Buy: Early 1960s Dorman Products brand fasteners, good used to new old stock. Hex heads of cap screws and bolts must be marked in the style shown below.

Hex cap screws and bolts, Grade 5, with heads marked DORMAN and the size (example DORMAN 1/4) from Jobber No. 540 kits.



1/4-28 X 0.50 (in black satin finish as described in the Dorman catalog)
1/4-28 X 0.75 (black satin)
1/4-28 X 1-1/4 (black satin)
5/16-24 X 2 (black satin)
3/8-16 X 3-1/2   (bright finish)


Double ended studs, black finish, with Dorman part number stamped into middle body section.   



S91, 5/16-24 X 5/16-18 X 1-1/4 (or any S92, S93, or S94 marked studs)


Reversible lock nuts made by NYLOK(R) and marketed by Dorman with red Nylon(R) insert and not the blue insert nuts sold by other distributors.



N 0.25 , 0.25-28, my 1961-62 catalog indicates that these were kits SK35 and Jobber Kit No. 580.

5/16" versions of the Nylok®️ red nuts are a nice commodity too for tie rods adjusters...just putting that out there just in Case Dan Case finds any of those.

These parts below were all new Cobra production parts street and or race 1963-1965 in California.  The S-91 studs were also use as standards in all the COBRA 4-2V (Weber carburetors) induction systems in new Cobras or over the counter from Shelby American.

(All of these pieces are extremely rare in Cobras that were ever far from day one original including most any commercially rebuilt or restored car. Some of the hex cap screws and bolts are very easy to see with the bonnet up and almost always missing, damaged, or modified. Studs are easy to spot after you know how their ends were indented. I have only found any still in use in a very to mostly unrestored Cobras or parts left behind from somebody fixing up a Cobra. In period many parts stores had Dorman® parts systems so somebody in the forum might have a lead on who might have some new old stock parts. There are also people in this group that had a Cobra or two in the past and might have some cast off hardware still.)

1/4-28 X 0.50 ("satin black" per the Dorman catalog)
1/4-28 X 1-1/4 (satin black)
5/16-24 X 2 (satin black)
3/8-16 X 3-1/2   (bright plating version on this size)
