1969 Mustang Dearborn July build seat belt and shoulder bolts
« on: December 07, 2020, 09:52:07 PM »
I'm looking for information on seat belt installation and head markings, washer finish etc. Does anyone have any information? Rubber spacers etc. Installation drawing?

To be more specific, I have my original hardware, what I am looking for are the illustrations like in this link for the 1968 Shelby.

From the 69 Shop Manual and the bracket in my car.  FWIW; On my car a flat washer, 3/4-1" diameter, was under the original carpet, at the tunnel, and in place of or on top of the 'sealer' as shown in the diagram..  Also of note, on my car, the original carpet had a horizontal slit.  Just wide enough to get the flat washer onto the tunnel bolt connection.  Brian

Brian,
Thank you for that it was very helpful.

From my original hardware I have made the following observations. I will add more as I sort it out.
John

Retractor Bolt,
Bolt-Rubber Washer-Retractor-Rubber Washer-Steel Washer.
Retractor Bolt head marking "B" and 2 triangles.

Shoulder Bolts,
Bolt-Shoulder Belt-Rubber Boot-Chrome Spacer.
Shoulder Bolt head marking "D" and "I I" and 2 triangles.
Chrome Spacer marking "D" and 3 triangles.

Inboard Tunnel Bolts
Head marking "B" and 2 triangles. A large washer under the carpet underlayment.

Rear Seat Belt Bolts
Head marking "A" and 2 triangles
Red colored washers with raised bumps.
