Identify clip

Found  this clip in with  my 67 GTA,S CODE C6 transmission  stuff, not sure  where  it goes, about 1 in long, any one have any ideas?
67 mustang  GTA  S code fastback  San Jose  April 67

Another view with something to determine size, like a tape measure, would help.

Looked through 87 S code C6 applications and didn't find one or a purpose.  Not unusual  for small clips to get tossed during rebuilds and allot of automatics have been rebuilt by now but didn't even find them on original trans. Good luck with the search. If it is original it would not be an easy clip to find if you needed one

That clip holds a return spring for the kick down.

Great pic Bob I believe that spring gets hooked on the boss that the spring mounts to often as thats how I found my set up, WCCC had a good replacement clip.
