67 A & C Code Thermactor (T/E) thread
« on: October 19, 2020, 05:04:52 PM »
I noticed in the 66 Thermactor thread there was a call for a 67 Thermactor (T/E) thread.

I had the chance to view a low mileage 67 Coupe with T/E in which most of the main parts appeared to be present. Here a few pics which we can pick apart.

Car is a 7R01C220*** tag date 13F, which makes it quite late and nearing 68 spec.
P/S and no A/C.

In you second (from top) picture it appears that the adjusting bolt lock is damaged since it is rotated to the 12 o'clock position meaning that the index tab is bent or broken. Lock as two tabs. One locks/rides in the adjuster slot in the arm (keeping it from rotating) and the other presses against the adjusting bolt to keep it from loosening.

Also some may notice that the pump used on this car was from a different application (3 port verses 2 port) but workers/management figured out it could be used for the application by placing a cap over the unused port (upper most when mounted). Have seen this before. Not sure if we chart the examples if it would identify a period this was practiced

We had discussed in another thread the hoses used to make up the systems

The hoses were molded (like other applications) with ribs that identified the maker of the hose for quality control reasons

I shared these pics in the Facebook CCM forum and 67gtasanjose (Richard) noted the cap as well.

We couldn't agree on the two spacers behind the P/S pump. Are there two, just one with a line in the middle or two different sizes stacked? Is this spacer size (depth) correct?
On A/C cars it appears the compressor bracket is one of the spacers.

The lack of a rear support strap was also noted by Richard.

Yes not really connected to the Thermactor system but the spacer(s) there and on the Thermactor adjustment arm pivot are replaced when AC is installed. Of course real hard to see the PS and AC bracket location with everything in the way

If your referring to the rear lower rear PS hose strap its not easy to see from above on many cars if present
