Here is the AMK guide photo for 352361-S8  Pic 1. Numbers match, finish S8.

Note that 378729, as Jim noted a few posts back, is also in this section, but with a -S finish.
The "-S" is an "identifier" as to the type of part number in the Ford numbering System. Its significance in the catalog does not mean anything other than it may be blank, but most likely has other characters, numbers etc. When you get a Ford service hardware part in a envelope or bag, it is identified with a "Locator Code" (378929-S8 has a locator code of UU87R) that is the shorthand method Ford uses to identify, order, stock and bill customers. The item's finish is defined in the locator code documentation, which we do not have access to (that's either good or bad?)
I found the Shelby shield.
I think I'm more confused than when I started.
That head type is closer to the engineering specified one.
Confused? It goes back to ancient Mesopotamia. Frustrated soldiers invented beer and wine to help them repair their chariots. We are their technical descendants.

Bob,
I used the 60-68 Ford Car Parts as a source as it was more likely to have data for both 67 and 68. It didn't. so I used the 75 edition Part Number Index to find the service recommended screws.

Bill : Thanks. That saves me having our Daughter dig out my AMK Guide when she goes to get our Mail.

Also, it shows that the only real difference between the Assembly Line fastener and its Service Part is the diameter of the washer, and the Finish.

Thanks again,

Bob

Jim : So you used what is shown in the 1965-72 MPC (378729-S), and corrected its washer diameter to that shown in AMK ?

No. That screw, 378729-S, has only one Mustang assembly line application, 64-66 windshield washer nozzles as shown in each of their Electrical Assembly Manuals. The data shown in the 64-66 spreadsheets has been that way for at least 20 years. It's also clear zinc plated for that application. The service part is phosphate and oil.
