69 Console Wiring and Top Face Fitment
« on: September 01, 2020, 11:04:51 PM »
I must have 200 pictures that I have found as a reference for this build but I can't find any pictures of the underside of the console. I'm in the process of fitting the Shelby console top to the Mustang console base. There is a plastic crossover brace that is preventing the top from seating on the base. Did they cut that brace out? Also it would be nice to see how the wires were routed.

One other thing that might show up in the pics is the toggle switches bracket orientation.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

Brace is cut out.Sorry I can't find any pictures of that in my files (surprised)and don't have a console opened up to take pictures of . They are all put together.

I kind of figured that I had to cut that out but it’s nice to have confirmation! Would you happen to remember off hand which way the switch plate goes? One part has a rectangle cut out. Does that part face forward or back? Also, any sources on the socket for the switch face nuts?

Too add, be very sure that all of the plugs are seated all of the way. Some carry a lot of current .If plugs are not totally seated the gap can cause resistance heat and at least melt the plug . At worst cause a electrical fire. I use dielectric grease on plug terminals before forcing them together.

Wow Coralsnake! Thanks. These are perfect. Looks like I got the orientation of the switch plate right. Now I just need to find a source for the circuit breakers.

They are 15A. I found 2 on Ebay. They are late NOS with plastic covers.

Thanks for the pics. I cut the bottom brace very similarly to yours.
