Looking for any pics of how the carpet is suppose to lay around the back corners where the fiberglass panels are and the carpet ears.  I bought some new carpet and it is from ACC and does not have the bounded edge (?) on the back half.  I can't compare it to my other fastback due to the early vs late fastback carpet..Also approx location of the screws would be helpful.  I was able to identify 6 of the holes but not sure if they are in the right area

Should have/should have the four screw holes where the front and rear sections overlap on the seat risers but you can match those up with the holes in the metal. No screws at the rear corners like on early cars with the vinyl side trim.

Thanks Jeff, I only had the four at the seat risers and I didn’t see the ones at the back corners like my early fastback. So are there only the 4 screws that hold down the carpet at this time in production?

Also another follow up question. Car originally came with a full length console and was a 4 speed. How would the wiring for the console come up from the carpet?

Don't think it does other than the gear indicator but that comes up the same way none consoles cars or and only goes to the shifter area not the console.  So nothing to hook up there on a manual trans car for the console.

The console (if I remember back that far) wiring attaches to the plug under the dash which lights the glove box area and the rear seat light. (added later - there is a loom between this plug and the console as shown in the reply below)

I was looking how Charles did the K code convertible he did which is a 4 speed as well and has a full length console.  Are the wires not supposed to run under the carpet? It has a ground wire attached to the floor

Think we were "talking" past each other and were focused on different wiring that feeds the console on a 65-66

In my last post I had forgotten about the  short loom between the firewall plug so I added that to that reply. Said it had been a long time and it has been

So where the console feed connects with the feed from the car, where do they connect at? Is there supposed to be enough slack on the console feed to slip under the rear section of the front portion carpet or am I supposed to cut a slit near the shifter for the wires to connect to? With an automatic you can feed the wires through the shifter cut since it used a different mounting system with a console compared to non-console. With a four speed the console just sits over the shifter boot with no modification.

Console feed wiring for 64 thru 66 (single power lead for 64 and early 65) is exactly as depicted in the Electrical Assembly Manuals, under the carpet and feeding the console on the passengers' side at the shifters. The AT console shifter plate covers the feed wiring, the MT leaves some of the feed harness exposed. (On MT console cars that I've replaced the carpet, I slit the carpet because that 1/4 inch of harness looked "bad". Don't tell.)

One last question, the front bracket for the full length console, does that get mounted on top of the carpet or is the carpet slit so the bottom mounting portion of the bracket is under the carpet and sits flush with the hump?

Mounted directly to the floor with a slit in the carpet.
