1972 R Code Sportroof
« on: August 03, 2020, 05:55:09 PM »
A buddy of mine contacted me about a 72 R code Mustang Sportroof for sale relatively cheap.  I really know nothing about this year of Mustang so having a hard time establishing what it is worth.  I started trying to decipher the VIN plate.  I was able to decipher everything except the trim code.  Trim code is listed as AW.  In all the stuff I find on the internet I do not see this code.  The W is clearly white but does anyone know what the A means?

Book I grabbed shows it as following

Standard interior  with white vinyl with black appointments

As a side note - In other styles of interior white doesn't equal "A" in 72

Late production as well, wonder if it is the last "R" code?

No, there was an August 3rd, 1972 built R code on epay last year, 2F05R2289xx. Sold cheap but was incomplete and needed a lot of work.

When you say "sold cheap" do you recall how much?
