Topic: Original Radiator 66’ ?

Hi,folks
Just thought you might like to see an original radiator, and I think cap, from my 66’ GT. It’s a two row and is still good! It came with my car but car now has a three-row original look rad.
I’m guessing not a ton of these around any longer. My car is non-restored but with one repaint in 2002. Original interior pony and 37k miles in it. I also have an 18 GT.

Where was the car built? And it might help others if you included the id and date from the side strap

Fill portion appears to be in the middle and has a fomoco block debossed on top. I think that might be a later radiator.

Kind of expect we will figure out things once we get additional information

I’ll see if I can find a strap number. This radiator came with the car.
The car is NJ from end of October 65’. It has the buck tag and I found two build sheets. One under drivers seat and one around wiring behind instrument cluster.

Not in the middle on 65 or 66 originally.

Common mistake is to assume that everything it original when you find a fairly original car.

The information from the strap should tell us what it came out of - The purpose of the question

Here’s a photo of tag. I still don’t know, as it appears several letters and number were repunched. Kinda looks like C3DE...not sure that makes sense. I think that would mean 1963 Falcon? But, they don’t have fill in center, either. Correct?

Looks like we have confirmed (kind of knew this from the beginning) that it's originally from another car/application. You would need an earlier MPC or a cross reference manual (use to find them in yards as a reference book) to figure out what it came from

Though its a 65 manual radiator this is basically what should be in your car.

The side straps may be from a 65/66 Mustang but top tank is not. The side straps are soldered on and can get switched out easy enough.
