A/C vacuum control valve
« on: July 14, 2020, 09:09:29 PM »
I have a 67 car with the large tank style vacuum reservoir. There is a round check valve that is just in and out. It is not like the three way tilt steering valve. Does anyone have the factory part number for the valve?

You will find that information in the library section under topic "ConcoursMustang.com Official 67 Mustang Article List" which has a copy of the "65-72 Ford Car Parts" (aka MPC). The MPC has your answer.

You are looking for a C6OZ-19A563-A check valve.

I've seen the same part used for tilt, A/C, and cars equipped with both.  I've never seen a 3-port check valve on a 67 Mustang.  I see 3 and 4-port valves on Cougars, Lincolns, T-Birds, Cyclones, etc.

It was used on '67 Cougars until mid year.

WCCC likely has them on a car in the yard.

I found an NOS C5AZ-19A563-A1. Should that work for this application? I see it listed under the recommended in the MPC.

Are you wanting something that will work /function or something that will work AND looks the historical part?

It looks like what I found in illustrations for the car. Is there some difference that isn't seen by the eye?

Bob, Here you are.

This one has two different hose sizes, the correct one will have two of the larger (1/4") hose nipples.

That is why I asked Are you wanting something that will work /function or something that will work AND looks the historical part? You can make that part work and function but it is for a different application.

Thanks, Bob. I looked the part number provided by the shot of the MPC.  Three came up on Ebay. The difference is the large in-out on both sides of the valve. It's also 85.00 Vs 25.00. otherwise it did look the same. If the valve functions the same I could easily make it large in-out without anyone being the wiser without removal of the vacuum line.

A one way valve is a one way valve as far as I know so go for it.

Thank you Bob. I wasn't sure if they worked in the same fashion. I have learned that because they look the same doesn't mean they work the same. It's why I asked you.
