Could my 65 FB have 66 floors??
« on: May 14, 2020, 11:38:03 PM »
Hi All,
Just received my 65 FB back from blast.
July 13 Dearbon sch build date.
Looking at undercarriage pics of 65 cars for detail or handbrake cables and noticed my floors are 66 floors.
Was wondering why 66 style cable and brackets and then noted no dimple for cable to go over rail.
Further looking noted 66 style rear seatbelt brackets in the tunnel.
My question is, as these are almost certainly not been replaced, is it likely my car was built with introduction of some 66 parts?
I've read about a "draw down" day July 31 65 but no idea what that means......
Any suggestions?

Not 66 floors just late 65 production floors.

This was just park of the running change that followed the emergency brake routing running change. Sure the date on the panel ( passenger side rear edge) will confirm when the panel was stamped.  Very late 65's got the changed floor panel that was used up into 67 when it changed again.

Comparison

Late 5F7977xx in the upper left hand corner and just a slightly earlier built (likely) of 5F737xx in the lower right corner Notice the lack of the raised "tunnel" or channel for the earlier E brake cable routing

Hope this helps and explains clearly

Thanks Jeff, that explains it really well.
Seems my car was scheduled for the final couple weeks of 65 production.
Do you have any information on the "draw down" date mentioned?
Cheers

Seen it referred to by a number of names "Balance Out Day" is another. Both same day. Believe it was last or day after the last day of production. Dearborn was the earliest of the three plants that year. Lots of work to get ready for the following years production
