Topic: 1969 NJ interior lower door color.

I have searched & could not find an answer so here is my question, on my 69 Mustang Coupe with a standard interior that was built in Metuchen, NJ on 11/26/68, the lower flat portion of the interior side of the doors below the door panel should they be painted exterior body color, or interior color?. My car is Meadowlark Yellow & has a Black interior.

On a car with standard interior/door panels the lower portion of the door would have been painted Dark Charcoal Metallic like the other (most) of the other painted surfaces

Don't have any pictures specifically from that plant and year handy but will look through, later today, and post what I have to help out. Found threads for at least 69 Dearborn posted guess your the first to ask about NJ for this year.

Don't have any pictures of the paint break at the bottom of the door but considering 68 and 70 practices from the NJ plant I think its safe to say the edge between the interior and exterior color was inside the weather strip by approx 1" similar to San Jose and Dearborn

At the rear - the most visible edge - I found the following example masked at a slight angle
