Battery Sticker On 1967 C Code Metuchen Built Mustang
« on: March 03, 2020, 04:07:55 PM »
My '67 C Code Sports Sprint car has 28,000 original miles.  It was sitting since 1976, but recently bought by a hack used car dealer and dolled up (otherwise known as messed up).  I bought it from him, and I'm trying to undo all of the wrongs.  However, I have found many interesting things along the way, like the original build sheet, etc.  I know there have been many discussions on the battery sticker, and it is often said that few (if any) survived, but I thought I would throw this out there anyway.  The sticker on my car looks to be paper, has squared edges, and intersecting lines.  All fields are filled out in hand writing.  Is it possible that it's original?  See attached photo.

Thanks, Randy

Have some reservations based on the way the sticker is filled out . As stated in other threads not aware of any original 67 NJ stickers that have survived so comparative examples aren't available for that plant and time period. Do have cars built 6 or so months prior at NJ and they had changed to the other style sticker by that point. Would be interesting that they change back to a prior version by December 66

Hydrometer reading is pretty high and the date lacks the exact date. Other examples (across all years and plants typically have day and month and not always year)

Thanks Jeff.  I'll preserve it regardless when I go to detail the engine bay.  I don't want to recreate the wheel.
