1969 Air Cleaner
« on: January 20, 2020, 08:36:03 AM »
Is the air cleaner used on early B302 the same as the 428Q? I know the 428Q air cleaner changed after 2/69 and that the later version had provisions for a vacuum line. I'm just trying to find general information as I don't currently own a B302.

Thanks

Before 2/17/69 the same air cleaner assembly was used (non - ram air) for the 428-4V CJ, 390, and Boss 302 in both Mustang and Cougar applications.

P/N C8OZ 9600-C with paper element P/N B7SZ 9601-A (Service Part FA-41).

My MPC is the April 1969 revision.

Was there  such a car as a factory built 69 Boss 302 built before 2/17/69?  Would love to hear of it

The q code base after feb 69 used the orange hose T automatic  choke bleeder valve in bottom of base whereas a 69 b2 used a manual choke so I would think the 69 b2 base didn't have the q code orange hose setup. I don't have a 69 b2 around my area anywhere to look at but would be a good ? on the b2 site.
