65 A code drive shaft paint stripes
« on: January 07, 2020, 12:27:34 AM »
I have a mid feb. NJ  65 A code 4 speed
can someone verify what i have found
I soaked the shaft in evaporust for 8 hours pulled it out and saw the stripes and stencil # put it back in for 2 hours to clean more rust and when i pulled it out stencil was mostly gone and stripes were faint.
The # was 19077-3N
The stripes were a lavender about 4 inches from the weld and right next to it a medium green both about 1 inch wide

Is this consistent with what should be there?

thank you
Ken

Don't recall every seeing or have records of the tube number being "19077" What has been seen is "19078" In addition have not see what we believe is related to the date or production period starting with a "3". Both comments relate to only 65-66 Mustangs

Will need to look through my records as far as identification stripes and report back

JEFF.
very limited knowledge here from me as im mainly into 66 cars but wasn't the "19077" stamp on tail shafts mainly found on 65 cars and then for whatever reason updated or changed to "19078" on 66 cars??
please correct me if im off track or wrong
