I've lived in Washington state most of my life.
We've never had "state inspections" in order to prove road worthiness.

Perhaps you mean Washington, D.C.?

Are there any remnants on there so we can see what you might have?

We have many Air Force bases, sub bases, etc around here so it may be one of those.

Sorry Bill, I have nothing I can show. But I don’t think it’s any of those Army ones.

Here is a website that sells inspection stickers.  I don't know how accurate they may be.  Might contact them.

The 70s was my prime time for buying/selling cars in Washington as a privateer. The only thing I can think of is the requirement to have your VIN checked if your car is from out of state. This is done by our State Patrol.
I wonder if the sites selling those stickers just want to sell something.

Here is the Government GAO page on states that currently have  inspections or have since rescinded inspections with a start/end  date. Washington isn't listed as ever having had one.

Why? An inspection sticker is not a "factory item", so it would not be required in judging. The same goes for service stickers often placed on door jams.

Nor are dealer name plates or license plate frames.  I chalk it up to part thrill of the hunt and part making a car look like it might have been on day 2 or 3 of ownership.   Can be challenging.  Not for everyone.  In this case a sticker is easy to remove

I have been in the auto repair industry in Washington State since the late 60's. There was not any sort of yearly safety inspection during that period on. There was emissions testing that started in [about] the late 70's but no sticker was installed. There could have been some sort of inspection in the 40's I don't know, but nothing in the 60's or 70's.
