67 Zbar mount engine side
« on: November 17, 2019, 11:10:58 PM »
I think I am missing something, see pic. My assembly manual shows part number 357329-S8, is this a very thin flat washer?

Thanks in advance.

In all the documentation I've forund, the thickness (and material) of that washer was not specified.
Check out the Forum's Library under topic Mustang Hardware Spreadsheet 67-68 for more information.

Thanks Jim, great information. Maybe someone on the board might have a car apart with one we can look at? I put a very thin washer on before the plastic bushing but the small clip will not stay on.  :-[

Wasn't there some sort of felt washer there?

Yes the felt washer is in the diagram going on after part number 357329-S8.

There may be an issue with the Assembly manual.
Or, every one of these I've seen is a service part.

The washer noted as 357329 is a captive washer and is on the threaded part that goes into the block. It does not come off. I don't remember there being another one behind the felt.

I think the 67 Assembly Manual picture just has it on the wrong side of the built-in nut.

The three I have all look like the version in the pic.

Hoping to see any other versions out there including 65/66.

I just received my NO(R)S pivot, sealed in the bag.
It's the same size as the other one I showed above and measures the same.

One of those weird things. Happened to have this pop up in my NOS search, and then the Z-bar and pivot post of yours came up. I looked for mine, didn't find it, bought the NOS piece and then found the old one.

Glad I bought it!
