69 Power top feed
« on: October 31, 2019, 04:32:15 PM »
Hey Folks,
Curious to know if the 1969 Convertible Power Top feed wire was originally stamped/ID in any way?
This would be the wire going from the switch to the relay on the solenoid.
There is one on eBay right now that my gut tells me it may be a repo? But may be correct

Thanks,

The factory original 69 convertible power top feed wire from the switch originally had a C9 engineering number printed on the wire ever few inch's and also a different engineering number on the fusible link wire that plugs into the harness between the solenoid and the top feed wire.

Bob,
Here is the link I was referring to. Also, did Mustangs & Cougars use the same wire?
My '69 Cougar is original and has NO markings on this wire.

That's not a bad price at all, IMHO.  I do not believe this harness is reproduced.

That is a repro harness by the grommet ,the style of printing on the wire and the fusible link shape . Those are give away signs that it is not genuine Ford. FYI a lot of the wire on the used 69 Mustang power top feed harness end up without printing. I suppose conditions under the hood are mainly responsible.
