Past experience is that an owner would post about getting dinged about something instead of contacting Matt first. Because of confrontations between judges and owners on the field is the reason you have to request your judging sheets.

Not trying to throw the judge under the bus, but perhaps something got lost or misplaced in communications.  I've read/heard that wiper shaft seals were leather early on (not sure if that is true or not...) but perhaps that was what was being referred to, or perhaps it was a shifter boot on the transmission.  If the complaint was in writing, then a query from MAC to the judge via MCA to clarify the point might be possible.

Just want to make sure everyone understands. No points were taken. Just a comment. I was asking because I have a friend who does leather work who can make one if I knew what it looked like. If it is true I want one on my car.

Thanks Mac, for clarifying.  Matt has judged your car and knows that you have a gold car winner.

Well jimminycrickets.
I have never seen one of these in the wild, but apparently Ford did make a leather clutch fork boot!

Nauga's were just being bred for their leather hides in the late 60's.

Looks like it was part of the fork and not a separate boot.  Thanks for posting this.

Well they appear to be separate pieces that were riveted together for the final product. Looks like a 90's or later service replacement part.

Sure is an odd looking piece
